“After returning to Georgia, I started a project packaging locally farmed goods in a more sustainable way to supply to Georgian markets. The knowledge and experience I gained in my two years at EMIS through entrepreneurship, economics, and ESS lessons really helped me.”
“My time at EMIS was when I first felt like I was able to develop real friendships and deep connections thanks to the unique environment the boarding school offers. Today, I am a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at a video production company in Tel Aviv and a Bachelor’s student (BSc) for Marine Biotechnology and Ecology.”
EMIS taught me how to truly understand different cultures and perspectives, while pushing me to grow significantly over two years. Beyond lifelong friendships, it gave me the independence and mindset I needed for adult life. I recently graduated and I am currently based in Berlin, where I studied Digital Product Management and am now working on my own startup project.
“I am currently living and working in Sweden as a doctor specializing in obstetrics and gynecology. My passion for working with people and giving back was first shaped at EMIS through the close-knit boarding community and the CAS program. Living alongside students from all over the world gave me a deep appreciation for diversity and different perspectives. EMIS helped me grow not only academically but also personally, teaching me empathy, responsibility, and openness. These values remain a strong foundation in both my professional life and my everyday interactions.”
EMIS broadened my understanding of the world’s complexities and showed me the power of youth as a force for meaningful change. It was my first true international environment, where learning alongside passionate students from around the globe shaped my commitment to peace and sustainability. My interest in the Sustainable Development Goals began at EMIS and helped guide my path to my current work at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, supporting global initiatives that engage youth in transforming agrifood systems. EMIS truly changed my life, and I remain deeply grateful for the inspiring community that helped shape who I am today.
EMIS holds a truly special place in my heart. It shaped the way I value my relationships with others and deepened my ability to understand different viewpoints. My time at EMIS was filled with love, laughter, and hard work, and it was where friends truly became family. Today, I’m studying at the University of Cape Town in South Africa, and I hope to continue travelling the world, embracing new experiences, and learning from the people and places I encounter.
“EMIS for me is not only a school; it represents 3 years of adolescence in a foreign country with the most beautiful and the most impressive people from all over the world.”
“EMIS has absolutely been the enabling factor for succeeding at university and beyond. On an academic level, the skills and knowledge acquired through the IB allowed me to easily transition to university. On a personal level”
“As a mom, I encourage parents to support their children when applying to this school. I witnessed a major character development in my son throughout his 2-year journey. The school’s diversity and the importance of the mission build up a unique environment that was only of benefit to my son. This experience strengthened his personality in various aspects including socially, culturally, and academically.”
