The School for Change
EMIS is an international high school (day & boarding) for students from all over the world. It is part of the distinguished and award-winning Hakfar Hayarok educational village. EMIS students come from all over the Middle East, as well as from around the globe.
The academic curriculum follows the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
To use education to promote an intercultural community, peace, and ecological responsibility for a better future
The Eastern Mediterranean International School (EMIS) is an educational community for inquisitive learners who are committed to shaping a brighter future using the globally-minded, knowledge-seeking model of international education with the IB Diploma Programme. The EMIS experience is defined by the three main pillars of the school’s mission: to use education to promote intercultural community, peace, and ecological responsibility for a better future. We do this by maintaining a shared framework of six values: peace, sustainability, responsibility, community, justice and rights, and active citizenship.
Our goal is to inspire students to understand intercultural community as the opportunity to seek understanding, new perspectives, and cooperation, and to embody peace and ecological responsibility by caring for all people and the planet, and to make an impact in their communities.
Our History
Founded in August 2014, to bring young people from around the world together in the heart of the Middle East, to learn and live as one glocal community. Our story is about diversity, dialogue, and a shared commitment to peace and sustainability.
EMIS is proud to maintain a long-standing partnership with the Charney Resolution Center (CRC), established by Tzili Doron in memory of Dr. Leon Charney, a key figure in the historic Camp David Accords. Since the founding of EMIS, the CRC has supported the school through joint initiatives that promote diplomacy, conflict resolution, and intercultural understanding. The Center offers students workshops, mediation training, peace simulations, lectures by distinguished speakers, and experiential learning programs that deepen their awareness of global and regional conflicts. These ongoing collaborations play an integral role in the EMIS mission, providing students with practical tools for negotiation, empathy, and non-violent communication, and enriching their journey as young leaders committed to dialogue and change.
