Ecology Field Trip to the Yarkon Park

Home > Stories & Updates > Ecology Field Trip to the Yarkon Park

Pre-DP students

As part of their Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS) studies, DP1 and Pre-DP students took part in a joint field trip to the Yarkon Park in North Tel Aviv, using the urban environment as a living classroom. The trip focused on ecology and ecosystems, with students carrying out real-world ecological investigations in an urban setting.

Students conducted water quality testing, made species observations, and engaged in social research to explore how people interact with and perceive their surroundings. By combining ecological data with human perspectives, students examined the complexity of urban ecosystems and the ways natural systems and human activity are deeply interconnected.

This shared learning experience allowed students to apply ESS concepts beyond the classroom, strengthening both scientific skills and environmental awareness through hands-on investigation.
